Question
A scholar from our area, while discussing Salam, has mentioned the word ‘Assalamu Kablal Kalam’ as a hadith. In fact, the word is hadith? If it is a hadith, there is a request to inform in which book it is quoted. 1587767484
Answer
- حامداومصلياومسلما، بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم -
That statement is not proven in the Sahih Sanad (pure source) from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). Imam Tirmidhi rah. After quoting that sentence in his Jama Tirmidhi, he said, هذا حديث منكر meaning it is the tradition of Munkar. Therefore, the sentence cannot be said as a saheeh hadeeth in the name of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). However, it can be said as a simple Arabic sentence. It is to be noted that although the sentence in question is not a hadith, the fact that the first salutation is given during the meeting is proved by other documents of the Shari'ah. 7856689253
