Whether the prayers will be valid if two feet rise from the ground while prostrating.
Fatwa Archive•salat•
Question
If two feet rise from the ground while prostrating, will the prayers be valid or not?
Answer
- حامداومصلياومسلما، بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم -
If any part of the two feet does not touch the ground for some time during the whole time of prostration, then the prostration will not take place. But if one of the feet is placed on the ground for a short time during the prostration, then the prostration will be valid and the prayer will be performed. However, it is Sunnah Mu'aqqada to keep both feet on the ground while prostrating. Therefore, care should be taken that both the feet are on the ground during the prostration and the toes are facing the Qibla.
