Two prostrations are obligatory in each rak'ah of the prayer. That is, just as the first prostration is obligatory, so is the second prostration obligatory. Therefore, the statement of Imam Sahib mentioned is not true and the four rak'at obligatory prayers mentioned in the question were not performed by any of the Imams and Muqtadis. Everyone has to repeat this prayer. Otherwise it will be a sin not to pray at one time. It is to be noted that if a sijdah is accidentally missed in any rak'ah of the prayer, then the rule is to perform the sijdah as soon as it is remembered in the prayer and to perform sahu in the sijdah after reciting the attahiyyatu at the last sitting.
