The meaning of the hadith is: "Whoever fasts the whole of Ramadan and the six fasts of Shawwal after that, he should fast for a whole year." In the hadith in question, the word الدهر means one year. Because in one of the narrations of Sunan Nasai and Ibn Majah about the virtues of the six fasts of Shawwal, Al-Dahr has been replaced by Assanah, that is, one year. Therefore here also Assanah by Al-Dahr or one year will be the purpose. Not an era. Note that the word الدهر literally does not mean a specific time. So الدهر does not mean age.
