It is a far cry to raise money or collect money while giving khutbah of Imam Sahib. It has been narrated that when Imam Sahib is ready to give khutbah, it is strictly forbidden to say any kind of prayer, tasbeeh-tahlil and talk. Therefore, making such an order for the committee has been against the Shariah. And it was not right for Imam Sahib to read the sermon slowly in obedience to that order. He should have made arrangements to raise money before or after the khutba and to stop raising money during the khutba and explain this matter to the committee. It is to be noted that for the Imam or the Muazzin, collecting or collecting help in a different way is tantamount to insulting them.
