Question
Is it permissible to perform Tahajjud prayers in congregation? 8419448356
Answer
- حامداومصلياومسلما، بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم -
All the prayers that the Shari'ah says to be taken prisoner in the Shari'ah, should be offered with the Jama'at. And all the prayers that have been said to be offered alone, are the only way to get the full reward and the only way to get the satisfaction of Allah and His Messenger. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and his worthy Companions, the Tabi'een Tabi'een, have performed the Tahajjud prayer with utmost importance and have explained its importance to us as an eternal Sunnah. However, as far as we know, there is no evidence that they have ever performed Tahajjud in a closed congregation. So Tahajjud should not be recited with Jama'at. Tahajjud prayer alone is the Sunnah method. If two or three people get together and recite Tahajjud with Jamaat, then it will not be Makrooh. And if 4/5 people do jama'at without shouting, or 2/4 people do jama'at with shouting, then that jama'at will be makrooh according to Fuqaha'i Kiram. 6997811972
