Question
Former Muhtamim Mufti Maulana Ibrahim Khan of Mekhal Madrasa in Chittagong Hathazari. In a long discussion on pages 137-149 of the book "Shari'ah and Traditional Superstition" written by him, it has been said that it is bid'ah sayiyah to pray together after the obligatory prayers. But in the long discussion of the answer column to the question in the August issue of the monthly Rahmani Paygam ’98, it has been said that it is desirable. In both places, the subject matter has been described very forcefully with documentary evidence. We have no objection or dilemma to the above debate in the light of the statement "Ulamaye Kiram's dissent is a mercy". But I have to perform the duty of Imamate from time to time. So the question is: (A) Can I start working on any one of the approaches? Or do I have the right to exercise my conscience? (B) Can the muqtadis themselves recite the dua in the combined prayer? Or can they only say Amen? 9958157961
Answer
- حامداومصلياومسلما، بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم -
(A) The combined prayer after the prayer depends on the bid'at or mustahab situation. That is, if it is considered necessary to pray in a place and if someone does not pray, he is reprimanded, then praying in that environment will be a bid'at. But if the combined prayer is not considered necessary in any place and if no one participates in the prayer, he is not reprimanded, then the combined prayer cannot be called bid'at in that environment. Rather, it will be desirable. Because, it is proved by many positive hadiths. So if there is no other difficulty, the combined prayer cannot be called bid'at. Because, it is called bid'at which has no basis in sharia. But the matter of prayer after the obligatory prayer is not so. Now if Hazrat Maulana Mufti Ibrahim Khan Sahib has seen the situation in Chittagong that the worshipers there consider it necessary, and for this reason he called it bid'at, then it will be bid'at. But if the worshipers, whether they consider it necessary to pray or not, say that it is bid'at to do so in all circumstances, then his statement is not valid on the basis of evidence. So you will explain the masala to the worshipers well and you can go on praying after the prayers without feeling urgent. Because if it is considered necessary, it is bid'at. But even if you always do it without considering it mustahab, it is not bid'at. But sometimes it can be left out. This means that prayer is not a part of prayer. Rather, it is a completely different eigenvis and there is no iqtida of the Imam in it. So before or after the Imam can finish the prayer at will. (B) Muktadis can do both in ijtimai munajat. That is, if they wish, they can present the intentions and desires of each person in the court of Allah. Or Imam Sahib will recite the words of Dua aloud and the Muqtadis will say ‘Amin’ ‘Amin’ in the Dua of Imam. However, in this case, care must be taken so that the sound of the prayers does not interfere with the prayers of the month. And it is better for everyone to make their own du'aa 'without making any noise without any special occasion, and it is mustahab to pray silently and it has more virtues. Under the condition, that is, it is permissible to make du'aa 'aloud if there is no difficulty in worshiping others. 7199153883
