Imam Bukhari called Mu'ammal 'Munkarul Hadith' and he also said, 'It will not be valid to narrate from what I will call Munkarul Hadith.' Ibn Sa'd, Abu Jura'a Razi, Abu Hatim Razi and Darakutni, among others, have called Mu'ammal "victims of excessive mistakes." Ibn Hajar al-Asqalani said in Fath al-Bari: (مؤمل بن إسماعيل فى حديثه عن الثوري ضعيف) There is a weakness in Mu'ammal's narration from Sufyan. (Under Hadith 5172) and contrary to another narration by Sufyan Saori. And the mistake of Mu'ammal Ibn Ismail in this hadith is Wail Ibn Hujr. Asarus Sunan writes in his book:و يقع في قلبي: أن هذا تصحيف من الكاتب, و الصحيح: يضع هذه على هذه, فيناسبه قوله: وصف يحيى اليمنى على اليسرى فوق المفصل و يوافقه سائر الروايات.Meaning: I think the word على صدره (on the chest) was due to a mistake made by the author.
