But on the contrary, the muqallid says that there is no fixed limit for the journey. And in some places the muqallid says that the distance of the journey is 9 miles. And some say 3 miles. (Mukhatarusa Sihah liraraji) Another hadith عن ابن عباس أنه سئل أنقصر الصلاة إلى عرفة قال لا ولكن إلى عسفان وإلى جدة وإلى الطائف2 وإسناده صحيح وذكره مالك في الموطأ عن ابن عباس بلاغا. The distance between Mecca and Asfan is 60 kilometers. In the light of the above Sahih Hadith, it is as clear as daylight that the distance of the journey is not 10/12 kilometers, but at least 60/7 kilometers. After researching all these things, Ahnaf in Fukbaha has carefully determined the distance of the journey to Shari'ah at 48 miles.
