Definition of Hadith The most famous definition of Hadith is, اقوال النبى صلى الله عليه وسلم وفعلهه واحوله (فتح الملهم-1/6) The words, actions and conditions of the Prophet (peace be upon him) are called Hadith. (Fathul Mulhim-1/6) Allama Jalaluddin Suyuti wrote- وَقَالَ الطِّيبِيُّ Allama Tibi He said - Hadith is the word of mouth. It includes the sayings of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and the sayings of the Companions and the Companions and their actions and takrs, as well as keeping silent on seeing something. Shamil. (Tadribur Rabi-6) Then, according to Allama Tibi, Hadith is a combination of 9 things. Thus-

1. The words of the Prophet.
2. Actions of the Prophet.
3. Takreer of the Prophet.
4. Sayings of the Companions.
5. Actions of Companions.
6. Takreer of Companions.
7. The Tabee's say of Rah.
8. Actions of the followers.
9. The followers of Rahah's Takreer. Hafiz Ibn Hajar Askalani said 9 types of hadith like Allama Tibi.

See- وَقَالَ شَيْخُ الْإِسلَامِ فِي شَرْحِ النُّخْبَةِ: الْخَبَرُ عِنْدَ عُلَمَاءِ الْفَنِّ مُرَادِفٌ لِلْحَدِيTHِ, فَيْطلقَانِ عَلَى الْمَرفُوعِ وَعَلَ ى الْمَوْقُوفِ وَالْمَقْطُوعِ. To see the rest of the details, you have to read the books of Ulumul Hadith. There are three types of hadith that have come down to us. namely- 1- News of mutawatir. Which is narrated by a large crowd, which is naturally impossible to be false. 2. Wahid in Khabar. Which only one narrates. There are two types of Mutawati in Khabar.

1. Mutawatire Lafji i.e. Mutawatire as word and meaning.
2. Mutawatire manui i.e. not as meaning mutawatir as a word. There are three types of Wahid in the news. namely-
3. Mashhoor. At every level what is narrated by three or more persons but does not reach the level of Tawatur.
4. Poor. Containing a narrator.
5. Aziz. Each level of which has no fewer than two narrators. There are two types of Wahid's famous, Aziz and Ghareeb being strong and weak. namely-
6. Maqbool.
7. Mardud. There are two types of Maqbul Hadith levels. Namely- 1-Sahih. 2-Hasan. There are two types of authentic hadith. Namely- 1-Sahih Lijatihi. 2-Sahih Ligairihi. There are two types of Hasan Hadith. Namely- 1-Hasan Lizatihi. 2-Hasan Ligairihi. There are two types of Maqbul Hadith as a practice. Namely- 1-Mamulebihi i.e. on which the deeds are issued.
8. Gair mamulibihi i.e. on which there is no amal. There are many more such types. Which has been discussed in detail in the books of Ulumul Hadith. For example 1-Muqaddimay Fathul Mulhim. 2-Muqaddimay Ibnus Salah. 3-Tadribur Rabi. 4-Taisiru Mustalahil hadith. 5-Muqaddimay Mishkat.
9. Sharhu Nukhbatil Fikar.etc. What is the ruling on the statement of the Companions and the Tabeees? We have understood from the previous definition of Hadith that according to many learned Muhaddiseen, the sayings of the Companions and the Tabeees are also considered to be Hadith.
